What is the IK protection class_IK protection test organization

The IK crashworthiness rating applies to the entire enclosure of the product.IK codeThe IK code indicates the level of protection of the enclosure against harmful mechanical impacts from the outside. Marking indicates the level of protection of the enclosure against external mechanical collisions applying the IK code according to the following provisions of the sign.
1, IK code characteristics of the number and its definition:
Each set of characteristic numbers represents a collision energy value, see the following table
Note 1: In March 1, 2024 will be implemented GB/T20138-2023 and IEC 62262:2021 version of the standard stipulates that the IK11 level of collision energy is 50J;
Note 2: Some national standards use a single digit to indicate the specified collision energy, in order to avoid confusion with it, so the characteristics of the digital selection of two-digit representation.
2, IK test standards:
GB/T20138-2006, GB/T20138-2023 electrical equipment shell of the external mechanical collision protection level (IK code)
IEC 62262:2002, IEC 62262:2021 Level of protection of electrical equipment enclosure against external mechanical impact (IK code)
-This standard applies to the classification of the protection of the enclosure of electrical equipment with a rated voltage not exceeding 72.5 kV against external mechanical impact;
-This standard applies only to the enclosure of the external mechanical collision protection classification has special requirements;
-The purpose of this standard is to provide:
1) electrical equipment enclosure for the protection of internal equipment due to the harmful effects of mechanical collision with the definition of the level of protection;
2) the marking of the levels of protection;
3)the requirements for each marking;
4) in order to confirm whether the shell meets the requirements of this standard and should be tested.
