Five (5) substances were proposed. If all proposed substances are identified as highly concerned substances (SVHC), the total number of SVHC listed in the candidate list will increase from 205 in June 2020 or July 2020 to 210.
Table A lists the substance name, identification number (CAS and EC), the proposed reason and its potential application.
SVHC added 5 candidate lists:
Substance name | CAS number (EC number) | Give a reason | Potential applications |
1-vinylimidazole | 1072-63-5(214-012-0) | Reproductive toxicity (Article 57c) | Used in formulations and industrial processes; used as an intermediate and as a monomer for polymer production. |
2-methylimidazole | 693-98-1(211-765-7) | Reproductive toxicity (Article 57c) | Used as a catalyst, starting material, chemical intermediate or component in the production of pharmaceuticals, photographs and photothermal chemicals, dyes and pigments, pesticides and rubber; used in industrial chemical processes and polymerization reactions. |
4-Hydroxybenzoic acid butyl ester (butyl paraben) | 94-26-8 | Endocrine disrupting properties (Article 57(f)-Human health) | Used as a preservative in cosmetics, personal care products and pharmaceuticals. |
(202-318-7) | |||
Dibutylbis(pentane-2,4-dionato-O, O') tin | 22673-19-4(245-152-0) | Reproductive toxicity (Article 57c) | Used in a variety of products, such as adhesives, sealants, coatings and paints, thinners, paint strippers, paper and board processing products, textile dyes, finishing and impregnating products, polymer formulations in the production of resins and rubber For the manufacture of textiles, leather, fur, wood and wood products, pulp, paper and paper products, rubber products, computers, electronic and optical products, electrical equipment, construction and construction engineering, and general manufacturing. |
Resorcinol | 108-46-3 | Endocrine disrupting properties (Article 57(f)-Human health) | Used in the manufacture of rubber products; used in the manufacture of phenol resorcinol formaldehyde (PRF) resin, resorcinol formaldehyde (RF) resin and other resins; used as wood glue; used in coatings, adhesives and sealants; Used in cosmetics, such as hair dyes. |
(203-585-2) |
If the above proposed substances are added to the SVHC list through public consultation, the SVHC list will be expanded to 210 items, and the current SVHC list is officially 205.
