The Australian EMC system divides the product into three levels. Suppliers must apply for the C-Tick logo at the ACA before they can sell at Level 2 and Level 3.

      Level 1 product: refers to products that have low interference radiation to devices using wireless spectrum, such as manual switches, simple relays, one-way squirrel cage inductor motors, and resistors. Product suppliers of Level 1 must sign a Declaration of Conformity and provide a product description, and the product can voluntarily apply for the C-Tick logo, but the supplier must provide a Declaration of Conformity and a product description after selecting the logo. A compliance record is also provided to demonstrate that the product described in the statement has complied with the relevant EMC standards. Test sites are not required and internal testing is allowed.

      Level 2 products: products that interfere with high radiation emissions from devices using wireless spectrum, such as switching power supplies, welding machines, dimmers, and most household appliances. In addition to the declaration of conformity and the provision of product descriptions, the supplier must also provide test reports of relevant standards. If there is no relevant standard, technical structure documents are required, the test location is not required, and internal testing is allowed.

      Level 3 product: refers to products that are extremely high in interference with devices that use wireless spectrum, that is, products covered by CISPR11 and CISPR22. From November 7, 2003, the terminal products will be classified into Level 2 products. In addition to the declaration of conformity and the provision of product descriptions, the supplier must also provide a test report issued by an accredited testing organization, and a certificate of quality management system issued by the QSM certification body.
