SAA certification
First, introduction to SAA certification
The SAA certification is the abbreviation of the Australian Standards Institute, the English Standards Association of Australian, which was established in 1922 as the Australian Federal Institute of Engineering Standards and changed its name to the Australian Standards Association in 1929. With the continuous development of business, Quality Certification Service Co., Ltd. was added in 1990. In 1999, the agency completely abandoned the nature of the association and registered it in the form of the company (Standards Australia Limited).
Australian International Standards Corporation is relatively neutral to the government and users and has no direct relationship with the government, but the federal and state governments are among its members. In 1988 it signed a memorandum of understanding with the federal government recognizing that SAA is the highest organization of Australia's non-governmental standards organization, clarifying its independence and authority in Australia. Headquartered in Sydney, the company has offices in each state, employs more than 500 people and has offices in India, Indonesia and New Zealand.
Regardless of imported or assembled electrical products in Australia, the electrical products before entering the Australian market must comply with SAA certification, and all electrical products must pass SAA safety certification.
Second, the SAA certification mark
There are two main types of SAA certification marks, one is formal certification and the other is standard mark. Formal certification is only responsible for the sample, and the standard mark is required for each factory inspection. SAA's certification scope is mainly divided into quality management system, environmental management system, occupational health and safety management, information security management, and HACCP food safety management.

Fourth, SAA certification instructions
1. SAA is an electrical product entering the Australian market that is subject to local safety regulations, which are often faced by the industry. Due to the mutual recognition agreement between Australia and New Zealand, all Australian certified products can be successfully entered into the New Zealand market.
2. Formal certification is the responsibility of the sample only, and the standard mark is required for each factory inspection. At present, there are two ways to apply for SAA certification in China. One is to pass the CB test report. If there is no CB test report, you can apply directly.
3. Australian standards begin with "AS" and the Australian and New Zealand joint standards begin with "AS/NZS". Australian standards and New Zealand standards are basically the same as the IEC, and there are some national differences. Australia and New Zealand promote mutual recognition of standards and certification, and products can be sold in another country as long as they are certified by one country.
4. In the scope of SAA certification, the current Chinese manufacturer's application for SAA certification is mainly limited to product certification. Product certification depends on the type of product, mainly in two ways: "formal recognition" and "standard mark". Among them, "formal approval" only requires the manufacturer to provide product samples, and the products are tested according to SAA's product standards. In addition to the sample testing, the "standard mark" also requires factory inspection. It is generally required that the factory has an effective quality management system in the production process of the product for which certification is applied.
