What are the requirements for FCC certification for wireless charging products?

Regarding the FCC certification, depending on the operational configuration, the regulatory part of the wireless power transmission equipment may need to comply with the FCC PART 15, FCC PART 18 or both. Specific requirements are as follows:

   1. When the device is certified according to FCC PART 15, the device cannot be transmitted between 90-110 kHz because it is limited to § 15.205 in FCC PART 15C;

   2. When the device is certified according to FCC PART 18, the PART 18 rules allow the device to operate in the engineering medical band and generate and use RF energy for local work applications. But for consumer devices it must be used for very close distances, and this RF energy cannot be used for communication purposes, ie only charging mode;

   3. When the priority of the device operation is to charge the device and transmit any other data such as extended system data, images or music, the requirements of PART 15 and 18 must be met for the design of the device.

  Wireless charging products may have two different modes of operation: charging mode and communication mode. In this case, it is possible to use FCC Part 18 for charging mode and FCC Part 15 for communication mode, provided that the charging and communication modes are independent of each other. If the charging mode complies with all the relevant provisions of Part 15, the FCC allows the charging mode to replace Part 18 with Part 15.

2. Frequency range and number of channels, modulation mode and channel mode (for example, WIFI, is IEE802.11B/G or IEE802.11B/G/NHT20 or 80211B/G/NHT20/NHT40, modulation mode is FHSS, etc.)
3. Instruction manual (product manual)
4. Circuit diagram (circuit schematic of the entire product, including boards and modules)
5. Block diagram (that is, according to the circuit diagram, one part is connected as a module, such as power module, WIFI module, IC module, etc., and needs to reflect the frequency of the crystal oscillator) (English)
6.PCBLAYOUT diagram (LAYOUT diagram of PCB board, front and back)
7. Job description (operation description) (that is, how the wireless of the product works, from modulation to transmission, can be based on the block diagram)
8. Antenna data (that is, the data of the wirelessly transmitted antenna, if there is no way to provide, need to provide antenna gain, such as antenna max gain: 2dBi, telec certification must be provided)
